Bargara has three beautiful stinger free sub-tropical
beaches which are warm even in winter, two of which are patrolled by lifesavers during the
spring and summer months (September - march)

Bargara and Bundaberg are known as the "Gateway to
the Great Barrier Reef", and for good reason. You have the choice of two nearby
fantastic coral islands to explore, Lady Musgrave Island (accessible on the MV Lady
Musgrave and aircraft) and Lady Elliott Island (accessible by aircraft). Both offer superb
snorkeling and Diving, Lady Elliott rarely dropping below 25m visibility.

During the Months of August and October, you can have the
opportunity to take a cruise and see humpback whales on their way south to Antarctica.

Bargara is only a 10 minute drive from Mon-Repos, famous
for it's turtle activity. In the evenings, you can accompany rangers to watch nesting Sea
Turtles lay eggs (November - January) and baby hatchlings emerge. (Febuary - March)
Turtles lay on many of the beaches in the area, so if you're lucky, you may see a nesting
turtle on one of the swimming beaches too.
